First Steps in NZ

Background

Upon arriving in New Zealand, I initially faced difficulties understanding the language and culture. Our plan was to study for a year, but life had other plans. I received an opportunity to work in a restaurant, which ignited another of my passions: cooking. Starting as a kitchen hand in a Tauranga restaurant, I worked tirelessly, learning and growing until I became a Senior Chef de Partie.

Over five incredible years, I embraced every opportunity to learn, developing resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills. The demanding nature of the job tested my limits but also honed my abilities. Working long hours, managing kitchen staff, and creating high-quality meals daily became my routine. Despite the intensity, my passion for technology and programming remained undiminished.
